Coach Q has been a coach with Lewisville Boxing Team since 2022, working with both youth and adult athletes.
A lifelong student of the sport, Coach Q believes great fighters are built on a foundation of strong fundamentals and a deep understanding of the why behind every movement. His coaching style focuses on slowing techniques down, emphasizing details, and helping athletes understand not only how to execute a technique, but when and why to use it.
One principle he frequently shares with his fighters is:
“Techniques are tools and suggestions. As the fighter, you must understand the situation and know which tool to use.”
Coach Q believes boxing is as much a mental sport as it is a physical one. His goal is to help athletes become disciplined, intelligent, and adaptable competitors who can think under pressure and make adjustments in real time.
As an active student of boxing himself, Coach Q continues to train and develop his own skills and is currently preparing to compete in the Masters Division, reinforcing his belief that growth and learning never stop.
Outside of the ring, he is passionate about mentorship and believes the lessons learned through boxing—discipline, resilience, accountability, and confidence—carry over into every area of life.
His favorite fighters are Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones Jr., and Floyd Mayweather Jr. And if you catch him in a barbershop debate, he’ll confidently argue that a prime Muhammad Ali defeats a prime Mike Tyson.
